somethingsneverchange

About a month ago, (yes, I know, bad blogger) I had the pleasure of going to Central Oregon to watch one of my best friends from college get married. While it was wonderful to head off for a weekend to an unbelievably beautiful location

and to catch up with many friends from our days as undergrad’s at CU. The best part, was to be reminded that some things never change.

The lovely bride, was one of my three best friends from freshmen year and pretty much all of college. But as happens, we had all started to drift apart. The weekend of the wedding was the first time the four of us had been together since right after graduation and, yet, you never would have known. Within a a half hour and glass of wine, we were the four of us again.

We may not be those 19 year old’s anymore and we may no longer be as close as we were in those younger years. But it was nice, for a weekend to be the four of us again. To be reminded, that as much as some things do change, real friendships don’t. And yes, Brit, we are still pretty cute.

It’s Feb. 8,2012 and I just read this. You will all be those darling Freshman who needed to get out of the dorm for a few hours and a home-cooked dinner. It was my pleasure to have the home you came to.
You are still my “adopted daughters”.
    Love,
    Gretchen
